Prayer is one of the ways in which we seek to develop our relationship with God and express our dependence on Him both individually and as a church. It therefore underpins all that we do. Our current

Reading the Bible Together (RBT) is a three-year scheme where the whole church participates in co-ordinated reading of one book (or section of books) every month.
At the end each month we will share, in groups, what we have learnt by following a series of set questions to aid our thinking and discussion.

This is intended to be a listening exercise where we, first of all, listen to God through his Word, and then listen to one another as we meet together to share in feedback groups.
By following this process together we aim to:
Equip the church with good Bible literacy skills growing together in our understanding of God;s purposes, as we instruct, encourage and admonish one another from the Scriptures
Encourage regular Bible reading for all
Enable every member to share what they learn personally from the Bible and to see how this contributes to the life of the church as we seek to build each other up
Discern how God is speaking to us through his Scripture specificially at this time, both to us as individuals and also as a community of believers based in and around Long Crendon
Foster unity through listening and sharing with one another
This is the reading plan which we intend to follow during the rest of this year.

The order in which we will read the books is intentionally not the same order in which they appear in the Bible. This is to vary our studies between the various types of Scripture: Gospels, letters, poetry, prophesy and history.
Another advantage of structuring our reading in this way is that anybody new to the scheme is able to jump in at any point without feeling as though they need to catch up on previous books.
